Our first newsletter was all geared up to give you lots of information about what’s going on in your area over the next few months.However, with Coronavirus, things have changed dramatically, and we are all spending much more time at home than ever before. This might be a new experience for you, so we’ve come up with some suggestions of how you can spend your time and links to pages that might give you some inspiration.

  • Do something creative, bust out the crayons and do some art, write a poem/rap/song, take some interesting pictures on your phone (maybe you could share them in the next newsletter?!)
  • Go to https://receipeland.com enter the ingredients you have to hand and cook up something new
  • Have a clear out! Go through your wardrobe and drawers and bag up the things you no longer want for the charity shop
  • Take part in a home workout class or do a mindfulness mediation - ‘Smiling Mind’ is a great free App
  • Catch up with others via FaceTime or WhatsApp video calls, not being able to go out doesn’t mean you can’t reach out in other ways
  • Spring clean your space, maybe move your furniture around too
  • Make a homemade face pack: mix 3 tablespoons of lemon juice with 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder, apply it to your face for 15-20 minutes and then wash off
  • Watch a TED Talk at https://www.ted.com/talks there really is something for everyone – spark your curiosity
  • Check out https://youngminds.org.uk they have some great tips on how to manage your mental health during these strange times
  • Go for a walk, a local park is a good opportunity to connect with nature and feed the birds
  • If you’re having difficulty sleeping, the ‘Sleep with me’ Podcast is free and a great way to help you nod off
  • Go on the Rainbow Walk, discover your neighbourhood whilst looking for rainbows posted in windows
